Spec-ops are special missions that show up at random on your map, and can only be played once.

Spec-ops planets will have a yellow frame, while the main campaign will be red.

Tapping on the yellow icon with an arrow will take you to the Spec-op it's linked to.

While on a Spec-Op planet, you'll see the title SPECIAL MISSION on the top of the mission brief.
